On October 18, 2022 The Research Triangle Park Foundation hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for The Horseshoe, the first phase of vertical construction at Hub RTP. This was the first event where I brought The Pole-Cam and it came in handy!
The Horseshoe
White Point Partners, based in Charlotte, were selected by The Research Triangle Park Foundation to be the development partner for this first phase of construction. The Horseshoe will include office and retail.
- The retail phase includes 25,000 square feet of retail, food and beverage, entertaining, and amenity space.
- The four story office building includes 125,000 square feet of space.
Both buildings are scheduled to be delivered in December 2023.
The Plaza
At the groundbreaking, the one acre plaza was filled with music and fun including a mimosa bar, brunch station, and music provided by Peter Lamb and the Wolves. The plaza includes open space, a multipurpose stage and seating area, and splash pad! The plaza will be a focal point of entertainment and relaxation for years to come.
The Park
Created by unearthing a stream that cuts through the site, the linear park at Hub RTP is a beautiful piece of functional green stormwater infrastructure. With elevated walkways on either side of the park, seating throughout, and several bridges crossing the park there is no shortage of spectacular views.
Future Phases
In addition to The Horseshoe, Hub RTP includes additional office and life science space. KDC will develop One RTP Tower with 300,000 square feet of office and Site E with an additional 150,000 square feet of office space. For the life sciences portion, Longfellow Real Estate Partners will deliver 220,000 square feet of lab and office space in Fall 2024.
